The Linden municipality has commenced demolition of roadside stalls along Burnham Drive, in an effort to get the vendors off the road and into the nearby Wismar Market, which presently has less than 50 per cent occupancy.According to senior officials of the Council, the vendors were given adequate notice to relocate to the market, but chose to ignore those notices, leaving the Council with no alternative than to proceed to demolish the structures.Chairman of the Interim Management Committee, Orrin Gordon, had pointed out that it was imperative that the roadside shops be removed to facilitate urgent rehabilitation of one of the kokers located on Burnham Drive.
