Today ‘Aunty Stella’ is celebrating her 100th birth anniversary.100 year-old Stella CallenderRecalling her childhood, ‘Aunty Stella’ said that she spent most of her childhood living in Alexander Village. She said that most of her years in Alexander Village were spent around her one brother and one sister of which she was the youngest.She recalled ‘getting-a-way’ from her home to play with other children from the neighbourhood.However despite a sound trashing on every occasion she would getaway, she would still do so to fulfill her childhood longings.Years later ‘Aunty Stella’ got married to her life partner, Oscar Callender,San Francisco Giants Ricky Romero Jersey, and moved to Pike Street, Kitty. That union bore four children,Baltimore Orioles J.J. Hardy Jersey, one boy and three girls. She spent most of her adult years working with Fogarty’s ‘taking order’ as she calls it.She then moved on the work at ‘Brown Betty’ where was again ‘taking orders’.She said that in all her years working she would ride her bicycle to get to work from Kitty and she enjoyed doing that every day. She said she last rode her bicycle when she was still in her fifty’s.Now at one hundred years old,Cleveland Indians Carlos Santana Jersey, ‘Aunty Stella’ is confined to her bed and her wheelchair.Some time last year she fell and has since been unable to walk. All of her other children reside overseas.A typical day for ‘Aunty Stella’ is spent, in her bedroom or in her wheelchair on her verandah. While she would eat any nutritional food given to her she would rather on most days have her favourite dish — curried chicken and rice or curried chicken and roti.Apart from a little complaint of arthritis ‘Aunty Stella’ has no other medical complaints.As would come with her age she suffers from slight memory losses and is slowly losing her eye sight.Meanwhile to celebrate her milestone ‘Aunty Stella’s’ family has planned three days of activities. These include a tree planting exercise,Chicago Cubs Dexter Fowler Jersey, a church service,Los Angeles Dodgers Jackie Robinson Jersey, feeding of underprivileged children,Detroit Tigers Justin Upton Jersey, a concert and several other activities.
